Carlos Quesillo (a robot rat) and Minina Monina (a strange cat-cookie hybrid) host "Behind the Ringtone", a show where they interview former ringtone pets from the 2000s—those whose jingles were heard on every Nokia phone. Their intentions to film a cheerful, family-friendly episode fall apart when they discover that these characters now lead rather disastrous lives.
BEHIND THE RINGTONE premiered in December 2024 at the CityBlue Films Festival, where it won the Audience Award for Best International Student Short Film. Since then, it received four nominations at the Hollywood Series Awards (Best Short, Best Animated Short, Best Animation Director, and Best Cinematography), one at the Actrum International Film Festival (Best Animated Short), was a finalist at the New York Short Animation Festival, entered the national short film catalog of the 2025 edition of Weird Market, and was selected in festivals and competitions in Spain, the United States, Colombia, India, Germany, and Italy. Additionally, it is also available on the Divergente streaming platform.

Carlos Quesillo
In his younger years, Carlos was an animatronic rat mascot for a fast-food restaurant. Due to complaints that he was too terrifying, he decided to leave his post and dedicate himself to the television industry; and now he is one of the hosts of "Behind the Ringtone". He doesn't understand much of what happens on the show, but his carefree attitude seems to please the viewers.
Minina Monina
The other host of "Behind the Ringtone", Minina became popular on the internet riding through the stars while leaving a rainbow trail in her wake. Despite being several decades younger, she takes the show much more seriously than her rodent partner.
Perrito Chupi-Chup
A lollipop in the shape of a dog. Chupi-Chup became famous singing about his sweetness in the early 2000s and insists he is still in his prime while launching all kinds of strange products and spin-offs on the internet that nobody buys or watches.
Mono del Amor
This ape became an idol by singing love ballads to his beloved Bananita. Thanks to his adorableness, he is still loved and remembered by many elderly women, but unfortunately, his romantic life is not going through the best of times.
Sapo Majareta
This elderly amphibian went viral a couple of decades ago thanks to a video in which he imitated the sound of a motorcycle. That was the only reason people watched him, there is absolutely no other...
